Abstract
Purpose: This study is meta-analysis about the implants fracture from related studies.

Materials and Methods: A NCBI Pubmed search was conducted for English literature published from 1990 to 2018. In this study, the factors of implant fracture were divided into implant-related factor, patient-related factor and prosthetic-related factor. The factors of implant fracture were summarized and the average fracture rate of each factors were compared and analyzed.

Results: The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1) 5,094 fractures occurred from 197,168 implants; average incidence of fracture was 2.58%. 2) Higher incidence of fracture rate was observed in submerged external connection type and fixtures based on titanium grade 1. 3) Higher incidence of the fracture rate was observed in men, ages of 50s, bone density of degree 4. 4) Also bone graft cases, cantilever cases, over-denture and fixed-denture cases showed higher fracture rates each.

Conclusions: From the results above, we concluded that multiple factors, like material factors, patient factors and surgical-procedure factors, were related to the fractures of implants.
